White Pond or North/South Lake
« on: Feb 22, 2019, 11:24 AM »
Hello, trying to decide whether to go to White pond or North South lake up near tannersville. This will be my grandson's first time out fishing and I'm looking for a location where he'll get plenty of flags but also be able to wander around and not be afraid when he gets close to shore of falling in. Living in Carmel so I'd rather go close to White pond but would like some advice. Any suggestions would be helpful with three days of warm weather I'm afraid of soft edges. Thanks for your advice

I was just at white pond at noon today.  ice is 6" but the edges are starting to go.  You can still get on at the left side of the dock as of today.

I haven't been up to north/south lake since the beginning of January.

My luck on white pond the last few times out has been has not been good, but I haven't used tip ups.

When I took my son to north/south with bait in January , we got 4 pickerel on shiners.
