Heard rumors of ice fishing north end and the lake is iced up past Union Springs any truth to it?
Just wondering if any honest fishermen know if it is so?
Feel free to PM me if afraid to reply.
Any news is good news to me.

Honest fisherman?? ??? Never heard of such a creature. I've only fished the north end through the ice once a few years ago. Lots of dinks then also, but it was fun because we could sight fish them. Every now and then the perch would all scatter and a minute later a pickerel would swim through. Pretty cool to see

Fished north end yesterday ice was 8", not much  snow on top, north end .
Caught lots and lots of small perch, FUTURE FISH. All released to be caught again when bigger.
Did catch enough to eat.

Yep a old fashioned shanty town out in the channel  from where I was on the North end. I fished about a half mile south of the village. 7 inches of ice every where that I drilled, dinks, dinks and more dinks, only brought home a meal of keepers.

Is the ice good for a four wheeler from lower lake road to the two buoys? Maybe even a little south of the buoys?

Bad timing for that age group of kids. Deep snow, lots of deep slush almost everywhere and it is about to get worse. Try to find a smaller pond with no slush and lots of small sunfish.  Maybe in a week or two the slush will freeze up and give you a solid base.

Cayuga lake is never a good place to take that age kids due to the pressure cracks and other hazards.  Just my opinion. Maybe someone can help you find a safe bay over near Union Springs.

Weird...fished all day and it was a slick easy drag. Fishing was beyond slow for me. This snow may make those conditions depending on wind, but not what I saw. Agree that it is not the place for young kids for many reasons

I am going to be heading towads Cayuga this weekend if anyone wants to catch up.  Heading out with a buddy and at this point we have...vague...plans.  Only Access I know is at the state park or at a marina in the village of Cayuga.  IF there is someplace better at the north end we can meet anywhere.

Might also check out Owasco or Sampson st park while we are in the neighborhood.  The world is our oyster.

Thinking of going to Cayuga this weekend  never fished there driving from Rochester.  Does anyone know if Beacon Bay Marine allows you to park and access the ice there. I'm looking at aerial maps trying to find a place to access the ice.

Thanks for the info. Looking at aerial maps I also see a state boat launch on the north end west side.   May check that out. Thanks again. Looking at next weeks forecast this may be the last weekend for ice fishing. stay safe.
