MyFishFinder.com Just like iceshanty but warmer
I miss the flex light on my ultra pack, but that's about it. Good riddance to the rest of it.
Was is jumpy or not? No agenda here.........just posting what I read. Skipper said that marcum are the least jumpy units on the market......just backing what I saw on the marcum I tried, since he didn't seem to believe what I observed. And please.....agenda??? Pot calling the kettle black
People are getting real sick of it. We get it, you think Marcums are top of the line.
Did you really just say MarCums customer service is bad because Rapala bought them? MarCum is one of the few companies out there willing to bend over backwards for their customers. I have never once heard anyone condemn their customer service until you. Please let us know your experience with their customer service, I'm betting you just lied.
So I come to the experts to lead me in the right direction.
If I had to give you advice on a flasher, I'd say go with Vexilar. There is a reason the company has been around since the 80's and is still going strong. They also have the best customer service out there as, believe it or not, they are actually a very small company and care about their customers. I used to pro staff for Marcum and I wouldn't suggest their units, especially since they are now owned by Rapala. Their customer service is terrible. Humminbird makes a pretty good unit and I haven't heard very many bad reviews on their stuff.I wouldn't ask advice on a public forum if you can help it. All you will get is bickering, testosterone hosing, and smoke blowing. We fish for a living and have seen all of this a million times.Check the reviews, do your research. Whoever you decide to go with, shoot me a PM and I can give you the direct contact for them. Do please check your facts before posting, Marcum has a marketing agreement with Rapala. Marcum is still owned and made in MN by Versa Electronics...Good luck!
The guy has a 400 dollar budget. Why is this an lx7 thread? Oh yeah, because of Mr Esox. You should really start your own lx7 thread since that's all you talk about. People are getting real sick of it. We get it, you think Marcums are top of the line. And you can't compare any mechanical flasher to a digital one. That's like comparing VHS and DVDs. For 400 dollars tops I would say a Humminbird 35 or 45. They have a lot of features and are an excellent flasher for a first time flasher owner. Really easy to use also. You won't be disappointed.
If i were you i would look at the Fl18 by Vexilar. Its a great unit, built to last. Also the bird 385ci is a unit i am currently looking at. A bit pricey but with GPS lake master map plus flasher. It almost sounds to good to be true. Mandy knows her stuff. I would listen.
Take your $400.00 and watch Craig's list for a used LX5. Awesome machine with customer service to back it up. I have had a lot of flashers from all brands, best bang for the buck was Marcum LX5. I recently switched to an LX7, it is sweet but it s like going from a camero to a vette, both are faster than you need.
This is good advice. I sold my fl-20 and bought an lx-5 best upgrade ever.
