A lot of lakes were open water maybe it filled in those spots cooling water some leaving sluah ?? Let's look at it glass half full for now.. lol's. all i am is just glad Ice got here and am happy about it at that!

Maybe the snow weight causeing water to come threw pressure cracks in ice?? Have had that happen on several lakes on several occations.

Snow and possibly a wintry mix will move through the area Tuesday
evening into Wednesday. Accumulating snow is expected in some
areas. Details are still being determined in regard to this
system.

Cold air will surge into the area on Thursday behind another
Arctic cold front. Cold and lake effect effect snow will persist
into the upcoming weekend.

major artic air next week and 8 inches snow monday. near record breaking cold from 1890's. minus 30 windchill's and frostbite can occur in under 15 minute and the cold is life threatening.
should be fun fishing!

we are in a winter storm warning for two days. frostbite can occur with in 10 minutes.
weather app says it minus 12 at 8am with minus 40 wind chills.
air temp will be minus 20 tonight.
they say it is deadly. we are near record breaking cold.
