Fair price on a fl-8?
« on: Feb 01, 2013, 12:40 PM »
Question for you all.  I am looking to buy my first flasher and I have been offered an fl-8.  I believe it is around 8 years old.  $100 a good price?

Thanks,

  Tik

If it works, it's a very fair price.

If it is 8 years old it should be a fl-8se. $100 is good. You will most likely need a new battery right out of the gate, so add $20-$25. Make sure the transducer is good, if not that is another $90.

Wow!  Thanks for the quick replys guys!  The guy I am buying it from takes great care of his stuff.  Not sure if the battery has been replaced yet and I am unsure on the transducer condition.  I am going to take a look @ it on Sunday.  What do I need to look for when I go?  I know I won't fall for the,  "it works great in the bathtub line."   ;D

To check the unit out set it on your table turn unit on and hold ducer 24" over a hard floor. It will read 9 ft on screen as your bottom. ;)

If you dont buy it for 100 bucks, I am sure you could give out the info and it would not be for sale for very long.

just buy it.  it'd have to look like it got ran over by a truck for me to not purchase it for 100 bucks.
