Title: Gananoque or Red Horse Lake
Post by: riverdogg11 on Jan 30, 2009, 06:39 AM
Just curious?  Anyone ever ice fish these lakes.  We take a spring trip every year from Pennsylvania to Shawmere Lodge on Red Horse for pike and do well.  Just wondering how the ice fishing is?  Always thought one could catch some real monster pike through the ice in the same weedy bays we fish in the spring.

Hi! We fish Lake Gananoque every year in June. Our group stays down at Griffin's Lakeside, next to Tedford's. We run up to the Horse at least once during ou trip for a shot at bigger Pike and Lakers. Most of the Guides and locals we've chatted with ice fish in the winter, perch, crappie, pike and bullhead. We've had a standing invite to come up in the winter to fish, but have never quite made it.
