Lackawanna Lake
« on: Jan 23, 2020, 05:27 AM »
Just wondering......has anybody checked the ice at Lackawanna State Park? I've always had good panfishing there and easy to get to.

Went by yesterday, looked like skim ice out in middle and appears to be thicker along edges, but after the first three cold nights this week the lake was still open which surprised me.  Usually two or three single digits nights and it locks up but Water must be warm and that lake does get runoff.  I'll be driving that way around 3pm, I'll check maybe snap a pic

Lackawanna St Park looked to be locked up but most likely thin.

Here are two pictures from 407 bridge

I too have good luck on panfish there. I luck out by working all over the state so I get to try many lakes but Lackawanna is one of my favorites with so many Access points. Where's do you usually go there? I'm normally off the Bullhead Bay launch

Usually fish by the main boat launch on Lake View Dr. Go a couple hundred yards down toward the swim pool.

Thanks for the reply, if it thickens up enough for my burly self I'll have to try that side. Tight lines!
