i was thinking of maybe tying some flies to use this weekend for browns and rainbows and im not quite sure where to begin as far as color and size. the trout im fishing for run about 12-20 inches

I tie and use a bead head nymph, size 14-16. I make some in normal colors and some in lighter and darker colors. (gold bead or black tungsten bead)
seem to work good.

the rainbows at one lake a frequent like black wolly buggers tipped w maggots.
