Welcome to the Shanty
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to ice fish, have his wife mad for ever.

Awasome.  Let me know if you ever want to get up this way.  There are a couple of good pan fish lakes in the area.  But they freeze late in the season.  I have to drive early ice. But I still manage to find some fish.

The wonderful UT!!! Same here! Cant wait to get on high point! I always look at that little pond over by Texas Eastern off of the Connellsville St exit from 119, it was frozen the other day! Should be fishing soon!!

Same.  Have fished on hard water on and off over the years.  Hoping to get out more than once or twice this year!

Do you have a flasher or sonar? If not that should be a priority:)

I live down from there. I am on Mt. Braddock road. We need to get together and do some ice fishing this year.

No electronics yet, thought about a camera but after some research leaning toward a flasher.

I picked up a Marcum VX1 on sale when Gander Mtn was closing out. Anyone have any suggestions on a good rod and reel combo that wont break the bank? I have two cheap Gander Mountain rod and reels but looking to add a couple more to the arsenal.

The 13 fishing whit noise combos are solid.  At a very reasonable price around $40.00.  You can get them in ultra light and light 26" and 28".  Good combo for the money
