Arkansas,
The way it's looking, the weather could really be a factor. Frigid temps plus ferocious winds can make a pleasant trip brutal! If you do go, be careful especially if there's any snow covering the ice. Good Fishing!

P.S. I'm a "Canon-ite" as well!

-2 this morning

Man, would love to get out there Friday but it looks more like the weekend if the weather improves.
If you or others like slayer, ski, husker, etc head out on the weekend as well shoot me a pm - would like to meet each of the crew that hits up IS

I'll start burning 3+ weeks of vacation time beginning next week thru 1st week of January - the gas suppliers are going to love my truck regularly pulling in at the pumps (89 miles one way to the mile)
cha-ching  :-\

I use this link to check weather out there:
http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day/Elevenmile+Canyon+Reservoir+CO+15642:21:US

it's typically pretty close until it comes to the ever-changing wind direction and speed in the valley

Anybody have any other favorite weather links that report on the mile?

Thanks for the weather link. Just have to get the shack up and heater on quickly. I'll post a report when I get back.
Ski- probably saw you at Walmart Friday. Everyone in town was there.

-22 F at the gauging station and -16 F here in Florissant at 11 PM. I'll be cautious but it looks like a go at the Mile this weekend. I just need to pick up my bait at the post office. Tight lines

Ark...
Naw, wasn't me. I was up on Beaver Creek checking out the flood damage.
I'm going to see what the weather brings in on Saturday and Sunday. Should stay home and hang the Christmas decorations, but I just got my bait shipment in, (waxies, spikes and meal worms), so it's going to be hard to remain at Casa Ski. Hope to meet up with some of you...Antero or the Mile. Good Fishing!  :o

Das Ski - what outfit do you typically order from and are they consistently good upon arrival / not many DOA?

neveruminda...

I tried Knutson's for the first time this year. The bugs arrived in great shape, and packed in a cardboard box filled with wood shavings. I ordered them on November 26th, and got them yesterday. I guess the delay was with the Holiday. With postage and all, a bit on the pricey side, but I do like their service and attention to detail. Good Fishing!

knutsons - good to know

11 Mile Sports posted this yesterday -

CURRENT CONDITIONS: The lake is 100% ice capped. Currently(12.4.13) 40 mile per hour winds, snowing, -15, with -51 degrees wind chill. No doubt we will be ice fishing this weekend. USE EXTREME CAUTION. Nothing is as scary as early ice with fresh snow. Drill test holes, don’t go alone, have ice picks hanging around your neck. We will post ice thickness on Friday.

here's the current day Antero Weather Link - you can choose current, 2day, 5day, hourly etc
www.weather.com/weather/today/Antero+Reservoir+CO+3608:21

for some odd reason, Antero related links take awhile to load
