Thanks for the kind words from everyone, my brother is home, it was funny watching him eat with a neck brace on today. He's figuring on fishing a lot, he's gotta wear a neck brace for 3 months. This is gonna be funny as hell this winter. If you boys that fish the st Lawrence see a guy in a neck brace walking funny you'll know its us.
Glad hear he's making it.  Have a great day.  @)  I'll be looking for a neck brace  :woot:

Everything was lost from the warm spell last week. After last night and tonight it looks like a thin starting layer will be back. Sunday and Monday its looking like 39 for a high, other than that it looks to be the mid 20s and teens to single digits at night every other day to December 6th. At this rate there will be without a doubt some fishable small ponds or shorelines soon after. Two weeks of below freezing for day time highs will provide about 4 inches in some spots with no water flow. I cant wait, lets just hope the weater stays on track and in two weeks ill be fishing. Will keep everyone posted.

I have the itch to buy a new auger really bad. I found a Jiffy propane Lite 8" on sale for $399.99 with free shipping. I am just nervous to step down to a 8" hole. I've always used 10" but a lot of the time its just unnecessary.

Have you thought about the clam plate? Its pretty slick. It will handle an 8" auger

If Cummins introduced a Cummins turbo diesel ice auger, I'd be all over it. No matter the cost. ;D

Same here. I might go out there for some early ice. If chatty has ice before us, which usually is the case.

Pike, I seen on the web camera it looked like there was some ice floating around. You guys have to be 2-3 days of below temps with no wind from being on the ice?
A good day fishing inst complete unless it's spent with family or friends.

My early spot is 2 really cold days/nights from fishing. My friends younger brother walked out two feet the other morning.

I've moved, and went from wood heat to fuel heat. That bums me out, too.

What do guys/gals fish for/catch in Chateaugauy, anyways? Maybe worth a drive, some day.  @)
