Was out for about 4 hours with nothing. Fished Hyde Saturday marked 1 and pulled up 1 16" Large Mouth. Bite has been really slow.

OK.......So I got recruited by my sons Boy Scout Troop to join the annual Cranberry lake winter campout.  They stay at an adults camp on the lake in tents and have ice fished the last 4 years they have gone and caught NOTHING.  Would LOVE some of you familiar with the lake to maybe give me a bit of direction so maybe we could change that statistic this time around.  I have never been to Cranberry lake. They generally fish close walking relatively close walking distance from the camp.  After Googling the address it appears the camp is on south side of Matilda Bay , which is on the northeast point of the lake, south of Chipmunk Bay.  Is that a bay that’s worth fishing?? Have they just not caught anything cause it’s a “dead” bay in the winter?? Not sure if they would be interested in “breaking from the norm” of just fishing in the bay the camp is on, but is they are is there public access close by to there where I could get them somewhere within a close walk to get into some little pike or something??  Not looking for secret “monster fish” grounds.  Just something where we have a shot to pull a fish or two through the ice.

seems pretty slow everywhere. we headed north trying to get onto a different pond... our go-to spot is slow but i guess we didnt change our luck... saw half a dozen gills and a few perch on the cam but nothing else. and i only got two gills to bite. they were super finicky. i will say though that i think its a beautiful lake and probably worth another shot but not knowing it all that well we werent even sure where to fish on it. hope things pick up for you guys and everyone else.

We went Sunday to a small lake nearby. Ice was down right dangerous in spots. Bite was pretty much non existant. We got two dink perch, and marked a bunch of fish. Warm temps this week will all but ruin what ice we have. Oh well, hopefully we can rebuild some better ice this time!

I fished Hyde and it was very slow.  A couple of guys caught 5 Northern and a bass, we caught one Northern. Fished from 8-130. 6-8 inches of ice out there.

Just getting started fishing up here in the north country. I am still trying to learn how to get to certain places but I am happy to read everyone's reviews. I have only hit 3 bodies of water (ice) thus far but am trying. Thank you all for your updates and the more I learn the area the more I will post.

Just when things are looking up our season gets shorter. My son is going to be very upset when I don't take him out on the water This weekend.

6-8 inches but it was layered...soft layer in the middle. I dont know how it held up after today, definitely not the conditions i would drive a Can Am side by side on but to each his own.

Hope the rain continues and then we get some arctic air to make everything turn to solid ice

Mine tries to see how many toys she can get in her mouth at once......then when I give her a cookie, she panics, cant drop the toys but wants the cookie, very funny to watch.
