Very nice. IAM also almost ready. My wife thinks I am crazy for what I have been doing around the house to get ready.

Here's a photo of the ice conditions from last weekend in goosebay, we have been talking about it on the Idaho R&C board. 2 people went thru but from the way it looks it may have not been very deep water. Photo credit goes out to Curt69, I imgage tagged off of bft. Hopefully the temps drop like they are supposed to and stay down

Ok now I feel like a little kid when it's Christmas time. All I want is to go to Henry's and do some :icefish: :icefish:. Does anyone else fill the same.

Its being reported as 4.5in at state park. So I'm sure there's a bit of fishable ice around there. I was happy to hear the cap made it thru the last warm spell. One more coming later this week and it should be gold till closing

Nice joe you beat last years start time on the sled. Conditions at Henry's are good in some areas

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1936541786673461&id=1375754239418888&__tn__=-R

But not all

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1937316006596039&id=1375754239418888&__tn__=%2As%2As-R

With the temps dropping starting Monday night our trip should be just fine. I think the areas that have had ice this whole time will be plenty safe for the machines by Friday. We may just have to rethink wheelers vs. sleds. I was planning on bringing my bike with the chains on anyways. Either way on foot around the rose will do also. Be safe on whatever day you head up joe

I read a post last night about a guy fishing out of Staley Springs and he said the ice where he was was only 3.5" and deteriorating from the top and the bottom. He also said that the fishing was slow. I also read that it is taking a 4x4 to get into the state park ramp.

Ok so I just talked with Kevin at the rose and the ice there is holding out just fine. He's had people fishing in there and doing pretty good. His south marina where the stream comes in has opened up a bit since yesterday and probably will more by Monday. The north marina is doing just fine. He did say there's a bit of water on the ice which is no Prob as long as the cap holds out and the temps drop Monday night like it's predicted. Everything should stiffen back up by Dec 1st. Now on a good note Kevin did get his web cam up and here it is for your viewing pleasure. I'm going to post a couple different ones and see what works

I don't know how it refreshes but the bottom link is a direct link to the cam on his web site for the rose. From what I'm looking at here and not much snow forecasted in the next week better plan on taking wheelers if possible not sleds  :'(

More snow forecast for Monday 11/27 with sub-freezing temps 24/7 through Dec 6.  Also, the forecast says snow on Dec 2 & 3.  Mondays snow, if decent, should hold until we get there with temps that low (I hope).

For sure, probably have to make that call Tuesday or Wednesday night. See what the temps actually do up there. It won't be a Prob with the room. Kevin is well aware of how it goes and will work with us as he has in previous years

Has anyone heard if ice is holding up or not? Planning on heading up tomorrow? Weather channel says its 45 degrees at lake right now and there was only 3-4 inches of ice last weekend.

From what I'm seeing on that cam at the rose I would probably not trust that ice right now. This coming weeks forecasted temps should firm it back up. What cap is left has to make it only a coupe more days. Oh and yes it's actually 46deg up there right now. Here's a link to the temp sensor by the state park entrance. Click this link

Here's the forecast for Henry's Lake over the next 10 days.  I wouldn't be driving up there this weekend for sure.  I think the jury may still be out on our weekend.  Careful daily checks might be in order from here on out.  I'm still in regardless of which weekend we go.   ;D

SAT NOV 25, Mostly Cloudy, 37°/29°

SUN NOV 26, Mostly Cloudy, 45°/33°

MON NOV 27, Rain/Snow, 35°/15°

TUE NOV 28, Partly Cloudy, 32°/19°

WED NOV 29, AM Snow Showers   , 30°/11°

THU NOV 30, Mostly Sunny, 28°/15°

FRI DEC 1, Mostly Cloudy, 31°/19°

SAT DEC 2, Snow Showers, 32°/20°

SUN DEC 3, Snow Showers, 28°/14°

MON DEC 4, Snow Showers   , 25°/13°

I think we'll be just fine Bob, it's going to be a little iffy on machines but we should be good. Don't know if everyone's seen the pics that were posted on the Idaho R&C board from the last 2 days. Their some beauties

I think I will head over Wednesday or Thursday and plan on staying a little longer after the group  leaves. I was planning on heading up Monday, but don’t see much sense in that now.
