smoking pike?

Has anyone smoked pike? if so how did it turn out
go to taxidermy, mount it on the wall

It's good...... smoked is good and pickled and canned are good too.

I've tried smoking pike, but I always have a heck of a time keeping 'em lit... ::) ;) :D

Id be carefull to make sure it is totally cooked in a hot smoke.  Northern pike carry a tapeworm called Diphilbotrium lata in Scandanavia (Finland).  Northern minnesota where there is a big Finn population now has the worm in Northerns.  The worm is a life cycle between northern pike and bear!  If you get one they can grow to be 27 ft long!  I knew a guy that caught one from pike in the boundary waters of minnesota when he didnt deep fry the pike long enough!  He lost 40 lbs before they figured out what caused his weight loss.

well I could use to loose about 100 pounds so Im good here, just joking thanks for the heads up, the pike im smoking is last years catch and have been frozen for about 3 months
go to taxidermy, mount it on the wall
