W. Wisc fishing abyss
« on: Feb 16, 2010, 02:47 PM »
Last three times I've been out have been the worst I have ever seen.  :'(
Is anyone else think this is worse than normal or should I just chalk it up to mid-winter slowdown?

Well yeah could be dog days on your lake. But it doesn't effect all lakes /flowages the same. Its been a little slow here in wausa on certain days, blue sky's and sunshine are the worst.so we went up around tomahawk last weekend and fished a really clear water lake in 20 "fow" and killed em on a bright sunny day. My suggestion would be to try something new.I see you live near the river, do you fish the back waters?or wisota? or maybe go to the DNR website and find a good looking lake and give her a go...good luck bro

I would like to get on the St. Croix, but people keep falling through which makes me a little nervous. Otherwise I tried two new lakes last week and found the same result. It's frustrating, but it won't keep me away from the ice cause, on the bright side, the beer is always cold!! :P

Just remember what they say, "A bad day fishing sucks but it still beats working." ;D ;D ;D
The river goes on forever and the fishing never ends.........

It's been real slow up where I'm at in North Western, WI.  Tonight I found some nice crappie after dark. The only bad thing was that someone drove right next to my shack and destroyed my favorite tip up.

Picture of the keepers from tonight. I sent about 20 back down the hole.

Good work on the crappies. Haven't been out as much as I would like, but I hear the bite may be pickin up.
