Marcums might not scare away the big ones, but they do scare away people who drill to close with other brands of flashers.

With my Livescope, I don’t have to drill close. I can see what is happening under your hole 100 feet away.  ;D

Lets not forget the artical by Nathan Zelinsky that Marcum's scare big fish!

That was funny crap when you sold me your marcum, tried every flasher under the sun, then had to go back to Marcum so we could still fish together

Not the op but Hodges Marine has the unit for $413.00. Cheaper than what I paid for it last season.

That panoptics/livescope stuff is pretty awesome,  I got a garmin 73 monitor for my boat this year Id love to get the panoptics ice fishing bundle and just plug my screen into that but the price tag is still too steep and I have no problems puttin em on the  ice with my ICE55.  The guy I usually laker fish back east runs a panoptics so im pretty familiar with it, definately great technology.  And just flat out fun to watch when your sitting on a pile of lakers (which youd have to fish outside of CO to experience :roflmao: :roflmao: )

Actually it seems to mess with other marcums and Lowrances' for sure! ;)

Ronco has a vex and we can put my lx-5 transducer and his vex ducer in the same hole no interference at all. Strange.

Flasher guys have to try and justify spending more money on an obsolete product. The flasher doesn't indicate when a fish bites anyway, your rod tip does.

Right on, bro---lemme hear a A...Men!!

'Tis the season of brotherly love.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Ive tried friends graph type units and it was just a bunch of nonsense to me. For sure the maps/ GPS is a great benefit. but for just hunting fish like perch on the deep flats you can't beat my 10 year old LX-5.
You graph guys certainly won't out fish me- ;)

I don't always out fish slayer on the ice, but when I do it is with a Vex!   :icefish:

If you want the finest fish marker on the ice, go with a Vexilar FLx-28.  :P  Mapping sure is a nice feature though, so to go with the Vex 28, buy a Lowrance Hook 5 or 7 with portable pack too, and download social maps.  Could get an Elite Ti or HDS as well.  You'll still be well ahead $$$ wise versus Panoptix, lol.

Go with my advice, and you'll actually be able to use your gear out on the ice, instead of it sitting in the Marcum shop getting fixed over and over, lmao.  ;)  ;D

Lets not forget the artical by Nathan Zelinsky that Marcum's scare big fish!

I'd love to see anyone here try to outfish Nate Z.  ::)

I 100% believe him that he experienced what he said he did.  However, I do suspect that the sonar was NOT the problem.

My favorite reason to ice fish is seeing lakers chase the lure and then catching them!
