Broken St. Croix rod.
« on: Nov 19, 2014, 12:16 AM »
Opened my rod bag to start getting my rods ready. Only to realize that the end of my St. Croix rod was broken. Got it for Christmas last year.  Ugh! Had the built in spring bobber,  too. What a loss. Broke other at the second eye.

I got it for Christmas last year. But I probably don't have the receipt anymore. Plus it sat on the shelf for some time at the local outdoor store.

Broke a Legend several years ago, called St. Croix and I mailed the broken 1 to St. Croix w/$20.00 and they replaced with a new 1.

Give them a call, all they can say is NO.

I called them. $30 plus shipping to get a replacement. Might as well just buy a new one. I didn't really like the carbon fiber handle anyway. Just sucks that my wife spent $50 for it last year.

Thats what stinks about st croix. I have quite a few of their rods and the warranty price sucks.

You might consider looking at the 13 fishing wicked 27" ul. Great rod for $30. Dont need a spring unless you are fishing some micro stuff.

Or just take the tip off your croix and put it on a wicked or premier.

I wasn't too sold on the St. Croix spring bobber. I still like the Frabill springs that look like the springs in pens.

if its just the  guide tip that came off you can epoxy it back on. I did that to one of mine. I whipped it with 20lb power pro first then apllied 5 min epoxy.  Maybe overkill but that tip is not coming off again. . ( I used golf shafting epoxy)
Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.
