St. Regis Falls Impoundment, Franklin County

The DEC website says there are walleyes and you can ice fish here.

Has anyone ever fished it? Is the ice sketchy? How deep is it and is it worth fishing?

Looking to see if you can get out off the town beach safely?

I have caught a couple very small walleye during open water. Fishing has always been good for me but nothing very big. The river is shallow and weedy with about 10' in the channel. I have not been out on the ice this year but it does have a decent current so I would be very cautious, especially with this warm winter we have been having.
