beads and blades on leaders?

you guys that are using beads or blades as attractors, are you putting them up the line a bit or rite down at the bait? if using them up the line how are you keeping them in place? small spit shot to keep it from sliding down? any pics?

I run 3 red beads right above the hook place a splitshot about 6" or so and the blade sits right above that. Not sure if it is the best rig, but it does produce fish. I'm sure there are people with a better set up on here that can help us both.

Changed my middle name to "You should have been here yesterday".         Remember it's called fishing, not catching.

I use crimp to keep the blades 12"-18" above the hook

On my pike leaders I have a couple of beads above the trebel hook then a blade, a couple more beads then another blade and a bead on top.  Usually catch a pike or two per year while sounding the hole.
