Helix 7 g2 di/gps conversion?

I have a Helix 7 g2 combo on my open water rig. I'm thinking of converting it for ice fishing instead of using my vexlar this season. Has anyone ever tried this or know of the pros/cons of using this unit? Should I use it as a flasher or should I use it in di mode for walleye and pan fish?

Most suggest graph mode using the 2d ice ducer.  You might want to look into how the new ice ducer performs with the G2 DI, the old G1 DI units only utilized a single beam of the earlier ice ducer. 

DI requires motion to work effectively, so it's not a good option for ice.
