I know that kid good kid but green behind the ears.....He was supposed to meet up with me but he decided to stay closer to home in the Alton area..... Felt bad. He should have come north.

X2 Tony - great way to start and some nice early optimism - but 3 inches of early ice is pushing it for me too - would not be comfortable waiting to swim between bites.

If you saw the pics of that kids post the ice was 1.5-2" max.  Not sure what he was thinking.  No way am I going out on that.  Hopefully lesson learned.

Made it back out today for a little. Action was a lot slower. Ice grew a inch, but afraid mondays warm rain will wipe out what ice has started. It’s still early though and temps look to be dropping soon after that. Still looking for those holdovers.

Here's the thing, from what weve heard he was young, most importantly,  only his pride was injured, so now someday when we "elders",are no longer here to.dole out wisdome, he can carry the torch, we all have done questionable things and lived to talk about it, those can be a life saving  lesson for many
