Any body keeping records on how we are doing against everybody else?

We must be winning the empty beer can stakes at least?

Mac, next year, now that we know about the contests...we will definitely sign on for them...hopefully we will bring the laker record to
where it belongs!!

And you are the Laker Queen so with you and sweety on our side that record is as good as beat!

How are the lakers when the lake is open water?

It is pretty awesome...we have acquaintances that run a charter service...and he said that last summer a customer brought up a 30 lb one...and this isn't uncommon.  Of course, this is in a big boat with downriggers...but Sweetie and I have picked up some decent ones
in the spring before they go out deep just trolling a Ford Fender  oir a willow leaf tipped with a minnow down around 30 feet  behind our canoe just after ice off over in Pierce Lake.  But Cold Lake also has some trophy pike....

If you mean closures...yes.  Cold Lake is closed to angling from March 31 to third weekend in May for the walleye/perch spawn
and again from mid September until ice up for the laker spawn.

We also have fishing licenses for Pierce Lake in northern Sask and there is no fall closure there...we fish for lakers there in the fall.

Copy it to  photobucket (or where ever you upload pics to) and then paste the tag into your siggy block where your flag is located.

Sorry that I missed out this year, what with the oilpatch in the northeast being hot.  Next year, we should have all of the top catches in the burbot, laker, pike, perch & walleye, if I can make any contribution.  Living in the Lac La Biche area, and covering quite a bit of the northeast, including north of Slave Lake, access to some good fishing is right at hand.
