Title: Mount tom walleye fishing
Post by: raffi on Jan 22, 2022, 03:06 PM
Has anyone fished for walleye at mount slow at night. Going to be my 3rd time trying. No luck last 2 times. I've done well in the summer but that's a totally different way of fishing any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ive seen people out at night but with squantz nearby I see no reason to try to figure out Mt. slow.  Also wasnt sure the cops would bug on the ice.  Summer never an issue.

I haven't come across it lately but i read you can be in the state parks after hours so long as you're actively fishing. Squantz is a hour ride for me. Don't mind the ride but last couple years ice has been to sketchy to risk by myself. Long ride to turn and go home

Mount skunk 🦨 a locked up solid. Good luck as you will need it. M friend was determined to get fish there at night.  Nada.
On a good day we call it mount one flag.  Have never seen a walleye caught there in the winter. Everything else there is stingy too.

Figured it out.  Green light for a couple hours, sabiki alewives, turn lights off.  Eyes below the alewive school that was attracted by green lignts.  Feed them the sabiki'd alewives.  No skunk.  Still dislike mount Tom though.  Nothing like constant traffic noise while fishing at night...

Done that during summer and fall never tried that way through the ice. Alewifes are just as hard to catch there most days as everything else in there

Mount Tom was sketchy today.  No one out there.  I’d say the ice will be safe by Saturday
