Title: Pleasant Creek Lake Frozen?
Post by: IowaTrace on Jan 04, 2022, 08:46 PM
Anyone know if Pleasant Creek Lake is frozen over yet and if there is ice fishing out there going?  If I dont hear back I will make the drive to check for myself and report back.

This is second hand, but if you follow the Facebook page "Palo Bite" it looks like there were people out there last weekend/earlier this week. Didn't see an actual thickness on the post, but it sounded like the ice was sketchy.

DNR report that came out today said "1-3 inches as of 1/5 and ice fishing not recommended". I would think with the forecasted temps the next few days the ice would be good by the weekend. Not sure how much snow is on the lake. I was thinking about fishing Saturday or Sunday.

Fished till noon today and found no less than 6” on the west end of lake. Decent amount of people out on the east side of the lake too. Wouldn’t imagine the ice conditions would be much different over there.
