Just getting caught up on ice shanty here. Computer went haywire and I just got it back from repair shop after almost a week.

I got out last Thursday and top really started getting mushy. Found some fish , but they were tough again . Waited out the eyes and finished off a limit at dark.
Went back  to Oneida ...east end Sunday . Did not find any eyes but did get some perch- 1 was a super jumbo at 13 5/8 and 10 inch girth.Shore line was gone in all but 2 places I checked.

Congrats to you and your grandsons Fred and longjohn. My 12 year old grandson went to a regional tournament and wrestled 100 # class, 12 year old and under and took third place. Same day, he also wrestled 100# class in 14 year old and under and took third there too. He was beyond exhausted after that!
Great job on all the fish you have been catching this past week Fred, and nice pile for you reeleyz Sunday.
Here are a few pictures.... I am done on Oneida ice for this year...good luck and stay safe to all still venturing out.

Sweet !  Enjoy your trip. Golf course Conditions should be awesome down there.
I could not believe what I saw Sunday on rt. 49  West Monroe... March 8 th and Glennwood Golf Course was open for business, with lots of guy's and gals out there playing! If I had my golf clubs instead of my ice auger and ice gear, I would have hit the golf course instead of Oneida Lake !
Short lived i'm sure...but it gives us NY state golfers hope!

While putting away my ice gear I found something I forgot  that I found at Lewis Pt. parking lot.
A very expensive to replace, Keyless Entry Remote Key with Electric Start, for a late model truck .
If anybody lost one there, or knows someone who did, contact me and I will be happy to get it back to whoever lost it.

My pops was out there, 91 years old this year and still trucking. He was hitting balls all winter, looks like the driving range after the snow melts here. :)

Not much ice left out there, all the stuff people were fishing on A week ago is gone. I noticed there is no real ice piled up, just A lot of frozen snow that was on top. Really sketchy year for sure, the sled recovery guys cleaned up.

Time to get the little boat going, i'm going to quarantine myself on the lake in semi self isolation, and fill my freezer for the rapture. :)

I like your plan CNY.

That ice definitely went quick. It was never very good. We were lucky to squeak out what we got this year.
