I was ice-fishing today less than five miles north of I-80 by Iowa City.
A lot of ponds here still have good ice out from shore, but that good ice is no longer accessible as the stuff along the shore has turned to mush or melted completely.
A few ponds, like the one I was on today, still have decent ice on the south shoreline if it is shaded and that pond is not getting too much runoff in it. if we get snow rather than rain tonight I am pretty sure I can still get out here on Monday, maybe even Tuesday, but that will be it for this part of southern Iowa if the forecast is right.
