Starting tomorrow (Friday 12/3/2015), I'll be driving from Eau Claire to Green Bay on 29, then 57 to 54 to Algoma.  Then turning south on 42 to west on 23 into Fond du Lac.  Likely take me a couple days cause I plan to wander, take my time & enjoy what there is to see.  Don't have to be Fond du Lac until Monday AM.  But if anything is going on in the Fond du Lac area on Friday or Saturday, could pick up the pace to hit it.

Also can vary from the route above if anything worth stopping at or seeing.

Any one know of any local sporting goods shops that would be worthwhile to stop and check out?  How about sporting goods shows, gun shows or fishing shows over the weekend in the area?  (Note - wish it were a week later & I'd hit the Milwaukee show).

Anything on the way that worth's looking at?  Will have my wife with me - any Christmas doings going on that would be nice to stop at?

Know this is a strange one, but never been over in that area with time to spare and would like to check it out.

Thanks in advance.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The Sportsman in Appleton isn't too far out of your way and might be worth checking out.  If you do that then also swing by the Fleet Farm just down the road from there.  It's gotta be the biggest Fleet Farm anywhere and once the ice fishing gear is out on shelves it's hard to find another place around with as much stuff as they'll have there.

I agree with eyeman, rippin lips is a great place. Very nice people there.
I'm what you would call an ice fishing freak.
