Moving air around in your portable
« on: Jan 13, 2024, 12:55 PM »
I have a computer fan I hang in my portables. What do you do to keep the air moving?
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I just open up a door for a minute once in a while if it gets feeling stuffy. They do have doors 🤷‍♂️

That doesn't do much to move the heat down from the top of the shelter.

Ah, gotcha 👍

I thought you were talking a bit of fresh air circulation

Right now I don’t do anything, but I think I’m going to get one of those 20v DeWalt fans.

I do ventilate for the Buddy heater, but that doesn’t move air around.

Yeah I need to just grab a computer fan.  I used to use a little camping fan.  However I hated bringing extra stuff.  Then recently I tried the Ryobi clamp fan, but it was just too strong at the low speed for this purpose.  It got a lot colder with that little fan.

I already carry too much stuff   I don't feel that my pop up is so tall that I need to blow heat down and if it's too warm there is lots of fresh air outside.   I'll just deal with my little heater as is.  It is winter time.

Good way to ensure you have the shelter all to yourself

I use a 5 inch O2Cool battery powered fan.

It take 2 D-Cell batteries that last me all season.
Using it indoors, fresh batteries last a little more than 56 hours of continuous use.
There's a little fan noise, but nothing loud.

Computer fan in my portable - took me awhile to find the one I wanted.  Tried to find a balance between the CFM and noise they made.

ice camped for 2 nights this last weekend and left the fan on low all night long for 2 nights and it never ran out of power

hook is plastic and broke, but I just wedge it between the poles in the ceiling and it works great, also has a light if you need it
