Ryobi drill plus 6" Lazer review
« on: Mar 10, 2019, 04:57 PM »
I fished all season with a $99 brushless Ryobi 750 inch pound drill and 6" strikemaster lazer hand auger with adapter. Never let me down even at -10 degrees. Drilled 20 holes thru 30" ice today and still had 1/2 of a 4 Ah battery left. Drill came with 2 batteries but I never needed the second. Ready to sell my eskimo gas 8" at this point. Hope this bit of information helps someone out there, this site is a great resource.

I use the same setup on a clam plate for two seasons with no complaints.

Similar set up as mine only I run a 6" shaver bit. I have had a 7" lazer and an 8" shaver on it and the drill handles it with no problems.  2nd year I've had this set up. Last year I used it a ton.  This year I ended up using my gas auger a bit more than I expected. I have a use for both and won't be parting with the gas auger ever.

Same here! Was a great deal. $99 with two 4 Ah batts with 50% off another tool or batt.
Recently removed my 6” lazer and using my 4” lazer synthetic flutes lightweight. WOW.

Why go down to 4” if it can handle the 7-8?!

Lightweight, fast, low torque one handed drilling. Can blast a big area of holes real fast for hole hopping perch.
Don’t need a larger hole. I’m exaggerating but it feels like you can drill holes as if your walking along with a cane.

I’d just be nervous with such a small hole lol. I’ve caught plenty of bass and crappie while fishing for perch. some of the crappies would barely fit up a 6” which is why I usually use a 7”.
