The wife was listening to the 10 pm news and she told me they reported that statewide 3 men had fallen through the ice and drowned this week.  She did not get all the details but one was in Warrens, not sure where the others were.

We all need to use extreme caution on the ice.

I heard about a guy that did not make it up by stratford.  They were driving on a river and went under a bridge I guess.  One guy made it and one did not.  We don't need this. Lets just all use common sense.

YES!!! Please be safe. It's not just you that it affects if you go under and don't come up.  I'm heading out in the morning, but you better believe it's gonna be a cautious adventure with the way the weather has been.

Just on this site alone between the US and Canada, there have a dozen or more reported drownings, no reason for it either !!

On Saturday, a car with two fishermen in it broke through the ice on the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir near Mosinee. One person made it out of the water, but the other died.

Early Sunday morning, Michael Philbin, the son of Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, fell through ice on the Fox River in Oshkosh. His body was found Monday afternoon.

On Monday, a man riding a rough-terrain vehicle died after falling through ice on a private pond in Monroe County.

I don't think things will get better for a bit. We are getting snow in NE WI now.... Not sure how it will affect the lakes, but if we got a lot, it may hamper ice production.

Think before you go out and bring a buddy!

Now even though we are getting colder weather, we are also getting snow which will insulate, and add weight to the ice.  We all still need to use caution and common sense with the uneven ice conditions that we are facing.

With the way the ice has been so far I doubt I will be driving on the ice at all this winter.

Yes the ice is just too spotty. One spot might have 10 inches,  and just a few feet away the ice is only 6 or 8 inches thick. I don't think I will be driving on it either!
