I don't do a lot of panfishing other than early or late in the season but they generally aren't too hard to find.  I might do some perching this week.  If you haven't found a better option you can PM when you're getting ready to head up this way and I can at least point you in the right direction

Thanks RapShack, will give you a heads up like day before. and shoot you a PM as well.  Figured the gills would be the most interesting for my guest, their first time to be ice fishing.

If you're just looking for action it shouldn't be too hard to find, there's plenty of spots that are a short walk.  Are you gonna do tipups too or just jig?

One thing that just popped into my head and I don't want to forget is your licenses.  Since this is border waters you're required to have a physical copy on you, showing the app isn't good enough.  So if you purchase them online you'll have to print them, or if you go to the store you have to ask them for a printout since you don't normally get one.  As they are just whatever paper you print them on I usually laminate mine with packing tape so it doesn't tear or get wet.
