We are starting to loose some shoreline up here on Northern Champlain. There's plenty of ice but by the end of the week it might start getting sketchy. Started out hard ice this Morning and by noon the wind and temp softened the top couple of inches.

I’m on dunmore and this beautiful sun is melting the top fast still plenty of ice but LOTS of leftover open holes. The access is allvopen water and lots of areas openening up along shore. Stay safe everybody.

I measured 12" on Fern Lake today, by the end of the day the top inch was getting slushy. Good panfish bite before noon. There should be plenty of open holes....I punched a bunch.

Was out on Monkton two days ago. Edges were ok and used the spud all the way out. But when I got out the auger it was only about 3-4 turns and it popped through. There was about 3inches of mediocre/bad ice and about 1 inch of good ice holding everything together.

This snow coming is not going to help the situation and might just be the nail in the coffin for the central & southern areas.

That’s surprising. Had about 10 there last weekend but it does go quick when it warms up. I guess I’m glad I stayed home today!

The edges of Dunmore were opening up yesterday when I drove along the east shore. The sun is high in the sky now, it won't take long to go out now.

Monkton Pond does not have good ice, stay away from Monkton Pond. Three people had to be rescued from Monkton Pond earlier this week, the ice was only about 1" thick in many spots.
