Crystal Lake anyone?
« on: Oct 26, 2005, 05:30 PM »
Anyone fish Crystal Lake in Gray at all?  Was thinking of setting up headquarters there this winter.  By the way, I'm new here, I'm a friend of Max who introduced me to this site.
(You may have seen me on the news last year when they did the Sebago Lake Derby piece. That was my fish they used!)

shore-to-shore for the first week and a half.... every one is catching fish.... then its slow as heck for the rest of the season... nobody out there but ex-pro wrestling coaches(lou albano), ice-cold legumes(frozen nutts), fat cripples(me)..... and yuppies...(can't remember his name... but his LL Bean outfit was worth more than Cliff's car)

cant say that i fit any of those categories...guess I'll have to find somewhere else.  Thanks for the input.

on a side note, got a foot of snow back in my old stomping grounds of Vermont! if only that were here.

Welcome Jeepster...

I've open water fished crystal a few times.  hooked up w/some nice bows/browns.

Totals of 20hours on the lake w/only 6-8fish to show for it..

I know there are a couple monsters in there, but, I'm sure w/put and take they are gone by the first two weeks of ice time.

If you want to try a place that's just as slow, but when you get a flag, it could be something in the 30"s, take the trip down into Naples and hit tricky pond.

My shack will be out there in Jan/Feb and you are more than welcome to hang with us one weekend.

sounds good...i'm sure I'll take you up on that.
I'll let you know once i get my new shack built, and find a place to anchor it. I'm down in Falmouth, so hopefully I'll find some ice with many fish closeby to put it.
