Only do the marina's, tail's and small bays until the mighty green bay is locked across. Check the lake michigan modis.

From the pic on the 15th. That's risky no matter what wind if you are on the edges of the ice in the open bay.

Happens up here all the time also on lake Superior. People need a back up plan, a friend on speed dial with a 12' aluminum john boat.
