I talked to Salmo USA and got the scoop on the new size 3 chubby darter coming on November 1. It will be 1 1/3" long and weigh 1/8 ounce. It will be in the same 13 colors as the other sizes. They ordered 80,000 from their parent company in poland and didn't think they ordered enough.

I guess everyone has there own lure they like. I personally have caught hundreds of fish on them and can't wait for the size 3

I hate to loose those. They are not cheap. But I have and there are always back ups in my pack

the one i bought just seemed like it didn't weigh enough to get down fast enough. i bought it because i saw a picture of a fisherman with a 15lb laker on the ice with a chubby darter in its mouth in an icefishing mag. it seemed to have some sweet action right underneath the ice, but i couldn't feel it right when i went down to where the lakers were. am i supposed to be fishing these things on super light line or something?

The #3 is only 1/8oz. and is 1 1/4" long. Salmo recommends 4lb test for the #4. At $7 bucks a pop I ain't going to use any lighter than 4lb. line. I think they will be heavy enough. I've wanted a smaller size ever since the darter first came out, finally I got it.

They have them listed in their winter sports catalog, but not all will be in stock until November 8. I think only 3 colors are in stock right now. Also, for some reason, they only carry 9 of the 13 colors available.

Now the question is did you get the really hot colors that will work? Knowing you, you probably bought all 13 of them!

hmm thats strange that on salmo's website they say 1 1/3 inch, then on cabelas product description they say 1 1/4 inch but then on the drop down window they have 1 3/8 inch...I wonder what size it actually is??

1 1/3" per the person I talked to at Salmo.

I bought three of the Giant Chubby's this summer they are about 5" long. I cant wait to try them on big pike this winter. They worked well this summer the couple of times I tried them even caught a 25" walleye on one. Will be a experiment this winter! I cant wait to pull one out when my buddies are using there regular size chubbies!

I'm geting ready to order..I have 90 bones in cabelas bucks what did you get mooter..I'm looking at chubbies,buckshots,and maybe some of the lindy rattln flyer spoons..By the way to those who care 1 1/3 equates to 1 3/8'' I think the #3 is an 1 1/4

Gut a few chubs, and new set of gloves spare auger blades drop shots jig heads for tieing ice flies ect
