just got it, but it's something topher and i were discussing. soft, but with backbone. can't wait for ice!

it is a solid carbon blank.....fine tuned like Pooley said with a ton of backbone and a super soft tip....not like a JM meatstick, it's durable  ;)

I just ordered 2 of the stealth rods from Thorne Bros. a little pricey at $97 each but they say they are the best. My wife bought me 2 inexpensive LL Bean 3/4wt reels for x-mas which are non-metal and really lite. should be a great match if we ever get some ice here in New England.

If the reels are the LL Bean Quest reels, you will love them!  Those are the reels I run and have no complaints at all...
