I went by Oxford on the 14th. Some edge ice but not much else. Wind was beating on it pretty good too. Took a ride by Mt lake in Hope as well. There was ice in the NW cove where the thick weeds are but not much else happening. Went by Ghost Lake after that. That looked to be locked up but there was a lot of weeds froze into the ice. I'll be driving by Spruce Run later on today for a look see.

just got back from checking delaware lake and there was 3 inches out there defrenitly going fishing saterday i cant wait

I did some driving around today. Cranberry Lake, Lake Aeroflex. There's ice but's it's definitely not safe yet.

Went up the east shore of Hopatcong and there is open water on the main lake and not much in the coves so thats a way's off yet. Friday will get more info on the board so the weekend warriors can start the planning for the Saturday kick off. Up high and North and West. Anybody that can weld and find a really big wood chisel can put together an old school SPUD that is great on thin ice. I still use a hand auger on 12-15 inches of ice, but I use a five incher for jigging and a six for tip-ups. Only had to enlarge a hole 1 time in 40 years for an 8.5 pound bass.

It's still early, watch your step out there.

I should have brought my jigging pole with me 2 nite. Ice was 4" on Mt. Hope. Rainbows and perch marathon all weekend long up there for me. Pickerel & LM Bass on the tip-up too!

checked a 15 acre pond in Stockholm maybe 2" in most spots and some sketchy looking areas-would not chance it this weekend --be safe

I drove by a couple of lakes near where I live. Little Swartswood is locked up but the big lake still has lots of open water. White Lake is ice covered except open near the boat launch.

Theres thin ice around so if you see guys on the ice there might be 2 inches or less between you and them. Check as you go.

well it happend today was on 4 1/2 inches of ice. fishing was slow though only 2 small bass. but it was great to get out so early this is the earlyest i can remeber ice fishing in a while

Spent 2 hours on Cranberry Lake yesterday afternoon. Lots of ice, slow fishing. 2 flags with one 18 inch pickeral. Felt good to be out.

thinkin about running my snowmobile on the dry side of the ice tomorrow. gotta run to motor vehicle and renew the registration for it in the morning. this is killin me that i cant go fishing whenever i want anymore

Fished Lk Hopatcong yesterday,Woodport. 5"of clear ice. Managed 15 perch mostly small. Very windy yesterday but ice is good
