would like to try it out some time and just would like to know what do you look for in a good spearing spot,decoys,fow, how dark dose it need to be and why, and some tact's you use to spear be going for pike.

it has to be dark so you can see the fish and he cant see you, I like a weed edge or drop off or both. most spearing is done in 6-12', you can go deeper and shallower if need be. hard to go wrong with a red&white or firetiger decoy, a live sucker works too.

You will find about anything you need to know right here on this site. And there are many good experienced guys here to help you. Go back several pages and you'll find many questions you may have that have already been answered.
  So. Dakota has recently changed some of its spearing regs. Lots of lakes are full of hungry pike that many people try NOT to catch. Good luck.  ;D
