Looking for an idea to use for a seat in my 3 person ice tent. It is usually just me and sometimes one other person. Thevtent is about6'x6'x6'. I have been using a buck with a lid for years but it is getting hard on my back. Besides the idea of stacking more buckets on top or finding a tall fold out chair, does anyone have any ideas on an at leadt somewhat light-med weigjt altetnative?

harbor freight directors chair. get their coupon first for 20% off. it's aluminum and very nice. i tried lots of chairs, but i like these the most. my last one didn't have the side table so i bought this one that does have it.

Those folding chairs are too deep for me. Especially on snow. The bucket or cooler see a lot of my better side. Maybe try a bucket lid seat with a back

so i think you two are talking about folding camping chairs and i agree they are not for ice fishing also.
the directors chairs are a very firm seat that you do not sink down into like a camping chair would have you do. it will be like the hw's preferred chair as far as firmness and even folding some what except no bars hitting under your legs like his will.
if you want more height or cushion just add a hunters seat cushion to it.
a directors chair is folded much like a tv tray is and like hw's chair he likes. if you sit sideways on hw's chair, that is how a directors chair fits you as far as the seat works.

I have found a camp chair with one of those Heat-a-seat cushions to be very comfy in my 4 man hub shelter. The cushion gets you up a little higher and prevents the sink in effect. Cabelas in the US even has a heated camp chair now.

That 3 legged one below the chair Diehard posted may work better on the ice.
