I predominately fish perch using bibets... mostly bare, sometimes with an eye on the bibet. Anyone else?

I not looking to buy them, just wondering if anyone else uses them. Here is northern VT (lake champlain) they are the mainstay for many perch fisherman.

i was suggesting you look at them...pretty impressive, dont even know if they sell them, a-bomb has influenced alot of people in the building/painting process.

Ok, I gotta ask. What the heck is a 'bibet'?

small hook w/ eye bent up like a jig, wrapped in led/solder to appear segmented and painted, meant to resemble scuds, oak leaf larvae etc. pretty impressive, check out the jig making section, lots of pics!

Thats not the type of bibBet being discussed here. Bibbet with 2 b's is french for bug, and this type looks kind of like a cashew. I use them alot here on Champlain and sometimes on Carmi... google lake champlain bibbets or something, or I'll try to post pics when I get my computer back.

Tench,
Thanks for the correction on my speling.
Bibbets are commonly used on Lake Champlain. The barbs of the hooks are painted over to eliminate the handle of perch. As mentioned, there are a variety of colors and patterns to either match natural forage or bright colors to attract fish.
