I know I don't post on here a whole lot...but I think I'm on to something...

It looks like to me that the new Frabill 1:1 Tightline Reel (black not silver), the new HT Fly Reel, and this reel are all the same!?!?

If you look close at the reel itself, the pattern of circle cut-outs on the spool are the same as well as the back portion of the reel assembly.  The crank on the reel may be different but I'm convinced that these are all the same reels, just with some different logos on them.  Also, it looks like the Frabill might have an insert over where the line itself actually sits on the spool?

Am I crazy or just that addicted to ice fishing gear to pick up on something like this?

Guess where all the reels are sourced from.......China. There have been similar reels selling on ebay for years.

I see Ice fishing going down the same road that soft water fishing has been going through for decades now. Revolving regurgitation of the same old thing. For softwater fishing a big example of this is rods. Long, short, EVA grip, cork grip, split grip, guides and etc. It all revolves, comes in style and fades out of style. Can't blame the manufacturers they just want to make money.

When are they going to make one that allows you to take that annoying clicking noise out. I hate it when I go to drop my jig down and everyone on the ice turns and looks at me. Yeah that's me over here dropping my jig down because I just caught a fish, better come drill a hole next to me. After the first day using it I had to put it in the garage and go back to spinning reels. Was just an alarm to get everyone else to come over and see what I'm catching. And then I cant even lie about it because they know I've dropped my jig back down 20 times in the past 10 minutes.

I do not think the new Clam spooler reel has any type of noisemaker in it. I was messing with it in the store.

Me: Do you have any pink Senkos?
Fleet Farm Employee: You mean bubblegum?
Me: No, pink. I want to fish with them, not chew them up.
Fleet Farm Employee: I can check the catalog, but I'm pretty sure we only have bubblegum.
Me: Can we just call a spade a spade here?
Fleet Farm Employee: I'll check in back for the worms your after
Me: The pink ones?
Fleet Farm Employee: I think they are closer to fuchsia if you ask me.
Me: Does pink scare you?
Fleet Farm Employee: I have a wife and three daughters at home, this is a pink free zone.
Me: Bubblegum it is, sorry for the confusion....

Sorry for the Hijack, but I love that story... ;D

I have the Clam inline sitting right here, no clicking, and a smooth drag.  Nice resin set up, glad I picked it up today.
The Greenhornet's caught more fish then you've lied about, Gustafson!

Bought 3 of these. Took about 10 days to arrive. Quality as good as what I've seen in the stores. Looks the same as the new black Frabill 101 - I don't know if it's the same or not. Doesn't have the wider handle.

Do they have the clicker / noise maker and if so, can you turn it off? How's the drag?

Might have to pick a few of those up.

Those look the same as the Frabill minus the wide handle.

As far as the clicker, I haven't figured a way to turn it off on the one that I picked up.  The drag on the reel that I have is so-so.  I feel like I needed to find a spot where the drag wasn't too tight or too loose and once I found that spot if I went one click either away it wasn't what I wanted at all.
