Ct river setbacks/ Brattleboro

Are the setbacks around Brattleboro or further north fishable through the ice? Hoping to come up from CT and give it a try considering the ice down here sucks.

Sorry I can,t help you with current conditions.  FWIW, When I fished the Retreat in Brattleboro back on January 18 there was six inches of ice. If you call Earle at Earles bait shop in Guilford he should be able to tell you about current conditions around Brattleboro.

Thanks for the info penguin - just looking to expand the area a bit considering the warmer weather down here this year.

A bit further north, but I always see people on the VT side by the boat launch where the Black river enters the Connecticut near Charlestown NH.

Ice was fine at Hunts - probably 8-10". Bit soft right at the lot where you walk on but planks aren't needed. Beautiful morning, warm and sunny, no one there, and no fish there. Just some dink perch. Open water on the south end. Was there from about 7-11am but I've never been there so what do I know. Earle's Bait Shop was a great experience. Super nice guy! and Guilford Country Store still makes fantastic breakfast sandos.
