Wow! US perch are so fat and yellow. Swedish may grow bigger, but they are pale and slim. I would really like to make an ice fishing vacation over there.

Great coloring and real tasty.
The really fat ones are most likely females full of eggs... Never tried it myself, But hear the eggs are good eating too.

Which area is the best for ice fishing in the US and which months are better? I´m not only going for perch but looking for the best overall fishing.

The northern part would be a great start, Winter months would be my suggestion    Just kidding.    ;D
I'm sure there will be many opinions on this question, and I really can't answer it.
I'd consider Maine, New York, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin etc.

yeah, my season is very limited.  Don't normally get ice until late and spring thaw isn't far behind.  If I could I'd move to one of the states I listed above or possibly even to Alaska, just for the icefishing opportunities..  But one must also concider the laws of each state.  We are permitted 5 devices, can catch our own bait, use treble hooks etc ....  Other states are limited more then we are, But some might be more liberal too.
