Quick Strike rig and leader storage.
« on: Nov 18, 2016, 08:45 AM »
I have around a dozen tip ups, and some trips we switch them back and forth from Quick strike rigs for Pike and Musky, to single hook rigs on flouro for walleye.

I use a swivel clip to switch them out rather than re-tie.

I'm looking for a good way to store and transport these rigs.  Something that keeps them fairly organized, for quick switches during the day.

Might have to try one of these.  I've been storing them in a cheap multi compartment box.  Kinda like a Plano but bigger no cheaper for hardware.  I'll take a couple out of that and put them in a little round cup some fly shops give you when you buy flies.  Think hockey puck size with a lid.  I can put 2 or 3 in there without getting them too tangled up..

Small zip lock bags, marked with leader weight. I stretch each leader before use, which also tests the knots...

Used to use,a fly fishing leader wallet, but the Lindy riggers are so much easier to deal with.

Foam swim noodle from Walmart and some golf tee...cut noodle with knife to the length you want.  Insert loop from leader on golf tee, insert tee into foam and wrap leader around foam noodle, and insert hooks into foam..
