Polaris ATVs on the Ice

Anyone have any input on the 2009/2010 Polaris 550 EFI for use on the ice?
Any noted problems or issues with this model?
I see the full gamut of conditions in Northern NY; from hard glare ice to lots of snow with slush and layers of ice/water.
My past seasons have been with a Yamaha 400 4X4 BigBear with tire chains all the way round and I have not had any complaints except for having to manipulate a manual shifter.

Going to come down to traction. You'll need chains for glare ice and the deep stuff, or if your draggin things. Otherwise, a pretty solid unit from what I understand....

Yep - tire chains all around are in my plan.  Been there, done that.

One thing to keep in mind, is that your probably going to have too put wheel spacers on before you can run chains on a polaris.
