Fished south of the 66 tnight, north end. Couple eyes but NO keepers... No Way gettin on at academy. Too much water, edges bad. DNR ramp was actually good at edges. Walked 100yds out and drilled 6in.  East side put in, bad edges, no way to get on there either. Opted for south of the pavillion. Spudded all the way to the break even tho there were guys out there. 4 to 5 inches of solid ice, half inch of crap. 6 guys on buckets, they didnt last long in that wind, it was BRUTAL. IDK about the shack that was east of us on that 1st double hump, didnt see a light. Once at the breakline, drilled holes at 13, 21 and 27ft. Twenty yds west i spudded 3 Inches. That was the only spot like it around us. It was tough but i Wasnt sittin on the couch with a remote. Def makin ice... 2 big icequakes and the ripple effect both times right under the shack. Talk about a Wake...

Thanks for the detailed report on the ice. I can’t imagine how tough it would have been in that wind today.

i will add this. While fishin, we seen 3 young kids out there comin from the very wnw corner, 2 on ice skates. The 3rd couldnt have been 9yrs old. I was freakin... where the hell were the parents? Im seasoned on that water at my pucker value was at 3, them kids werent even Old enuff to Know. I assume the Adult that walked out 200yds to call them in wasnt wducated either. What i seen should be against the law, child endangerment. Especially spuddin 3inches  towards them

Is that bait store open on 17 north of the lake? I need shinners and she use to have them. If not how far is it from the lake to Bass Lake bait shop. I come from the S.E. and no one has them around me unless I drive to Webster first and then up 30 to the lake.

i agree and wouldn’t believe it but seen it first hand. The lake I was fishing pre rain was pushing 9” clear ice. This morning I measured 4.5”. Hard to believe

It's roughly 11miles from Culver to Bass Lake Mike.

I wouldn't be surprised if people have them on it today. I won't have mine out on it again just yet. Gonna have to get creative to get on at the launch when the time does come. Ice pushed up about 2' at shore.

I'd give it a little bit, we covered a bunch of the lake yesterday and found ice from 2 1/2 to 7"  most was in the 5" range...she was singing good so shouldn't be long.
