worms and crawlers???

how do they work and what fish will you catch will icwfishing with worms i just caught a bunch today (because its been so warm in massachusetts) and its going to get cold this week so ill be out next weekend i hope and im going to give worms a try do i put thenm on a jig or a tip up???

I have had some success with Splake in the winter using night crawlers on tipups.
I do well with a small jig head with crawler tails for perch also
