Waxies do Ok in the fridge too? I always have kept spikes and mousies but just tried waxies for the first time. Crappie loved them the other night. but for what they cost I'd like them alive for the next trip.

don't let them freeze, or warm up...keep them between 35-45 degrees...they still work frozen, but cocooned up they don't stay on the hook well...

Keep the spikes in the fridge, but not the waxies.  The fridge is too cold for the waxies.  Keep the waxies in a cold room (about 50 degrees).  I keep mine in the utility room down in the basement.  I set mine on the floor against the exterior wall and they keep nicely.  Change the bedding about once a month if you haven't used them all up in that time.  Main thing with waxies is to go through them once in a while and remove any dead ones.  Seems like the dead ones poison the rest.

I like to take my waxworms out of the pine shavings they come in and put them
in oatmeal or coarsely ground cornmeal (I grind up shell corn in a blender).  The
pinesap in the sawdust gives a more bitter taste to waxies than oats or corn.
Also try adding a drop or two of fish attractant once a week to bulk bait.  It helps.
