The stream behind my house has dace in it that i have ben thinking about traping for bait they a black line and black spots, the vermont law book say only three kinds of dace are legal bait fish Black nose dace, northen red belly dace and longnose dace can be used can anybody tell me if the dace in my stream are legal bait fish?

I can't tell without a photo, but it is very likely that it is one of those, they are extremely common, ecspecially the first two. Dace may not be the best bait though, they seem kind of fragile, but give it a try definately!  :)

There is plenty of info on trapping bait on this site, just search for "trapping minnows" or "trapping bait", or ask me and I'll find the link. ;)
