Regional Park locked in last night-----will be fishable in couple days with these temperatures. Here we go!!!
-
I know everybody is getting antsy, including myself. Its fantastic that we may be on the hard water a little early this year. Been waiting for this time of year since spring. But lets all use our best judgement when getting on the lake. Lets all be cautious and safe this year. Tight Lines everbody!
-
I'm in no hurry to go for a swim. But I cant wait to get into some of these.

Getting excited here to Brian, can’t wait
-
I can't wait for some of those little flash frozen Perchies on the tail gate. Oh, and pre made pan fries to go along.
man. Summer Fishing is my thing, but as soon as there is a nip in the air and some snow, I'm getting itchy. Definitely great news, keep us posted. Let's go.
-
Saw a couple pike caught yesterday 5" of ice Im told ,this was in a bay on west side of last mountain., Lake just froze over couple of days ago
-
Any one been on at the regional?
-
Going to take a look tomorow morning I'll keep yall posted
-
All the ice is gone at Collingwood. Waves crashing on shore once again!

Ice is anywhere from 4 inch - to damm thin
-
awesome, nice way to start the season!
-
Iced 6 biggest of the day...
(https://s17.postimg.cc/4j67mt0jf/Screenshot_2017-11-10-12-08-33.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/image/4j67mt0jf/) water started to push up and though and Flood the ice in a few places over the course of the day
-
Nice Pike Spoxic
I was at the Regional for 4 hours no flags and only one nibble on the jigging rod. The ice ranged between 6 and 7 inches and I drilled holes from 20 yards off shore to 200 yards out. Deepest spot was only 10 feet.
-
Decided to hit the hardwater this morning. That saying turned literal in a hurry as I literally hit the water while i drove on to last mountain. In hindsight it was my own darn fault, just should not have taken the mother in law along on the first trip of the year. I managed to easily get out of the truck and to the surface. Shortly after the M-I-L surfaced nearby. Shucks I thought to myself, that could've been a bait bomb that would've lasted all winter! Anyways, I got back on the ice and in typical master fashion caught my limit before heading home to dry out. All the best to everyone this winter season. Tight lines. This is WIM signing out.

Good day today 3 Walleye 3 Perch biggest eye was 7 lbs 10 oz.

Great looking fish!

how thick is the ice now and which end of lake were you at
-
where to catch at long lake?? way north across from rowins or south by Regina beach??
-
how thick is the ice now and which end of lake were you at
I measured 10 inches to a max of 10.5 inches. I was somewhere north of Midway and South of Etters. Ice thickness on this lake can vary a whole bunch so wherever you go measure it yourself and be safe.
-
That's a dandy sized walleye, congrats anglerbrian.
Nice perch too. :)
WW
-
thanks anglerbrian I usually don't drive out till I see lots of other trucks on the ice or its at least 12 inches
-
Nice walleye anglerbrian! Sure hope a beauty breeder like that goes back to be caught another day!
-
She is still swimming around trying to grow bigger.
-
Anyone got any ice reports for pelican Sorenson's area.
-
Fished the north end and some of the ice you could hear shifting and popping made me want to run lol. I wouldn't recommend going out till we get some colder weather
-
Hows the ice at TTT beach ? Almost ready to drive a half ton on or no?
-
A decent day near Arlington and great weather to boot. Ice is right at 11 inches. Fished at a depth of 26 feet.

-
I keep hearing from friends to go to the old stone barn on last mountain for Eyes wat is the easiest way to find this spot and gain access wanting to head out maybe this weekend. Whats the ice like also
-
How's it going everybody, would like to hear if anybody has any ice reports at Collingwood, I fished there all last season and was wondering if it's safe to walk out there right now, thanks for anyone's input
-
I fished the north end of the lake today targeting pike. Arrived late but still managed a couple on the ice riggers.(https://i.imgur.com/s2fwQqN.jpg)

Hey angler Brian, what part of the lake were u fishing at for those pike, I was wondering if it would be safe to walk out around the Collingwood area

Hey angler Brian, what part of the lake were u fishing at for those pike, I was wondering if it would be safe to walk out around the Collingwood area
I was fishing the very north end of the Lake. I have not been to Collingwood yet this ice season. I have been as far south as the Duval road and ice there is 12 inches or so. I am pretty sure Collingwood would be safe for walking but have not been there yet to look around.
-
I gotta start fishing places besides blackstrap and meeting lake... I use to fish enters beach a ton in the summer in my boat and smash nice walleye..5 years back when I lived in watrous for 5 years it was a lil south of the boat launch and mid lake, there’s kinda a sunken island out there I believe... u ever ice fish in that area? Was thinkin about tryin to ice fish it.

Etters Beach is a good ice fishing area for perch and Walleye. If you explore South of there I am sure you will find yourself some good spots.

Usually a pretty good perch bite anywhere north or south of etters. it picks up in jan-feb. get out to the middle of the lake. Some walleye there too but i find more and bigger farther south. collingwood, whiterock and south to rowans and stone barn areas. More depth and structure there seems to hold the eyes thru the winter
-
Fished East of Triple T in the middle of the lake today. 14 inches of good ice. There are a few small heaves near the east side of the lake. Fishing was slow but between the two of us we managed 1 Walleye 3 Jumbo perch 8 smaller perch and a Tullibee. Fished depths from 25 to 32 feet probably should have gone shallower as there was more action at 25 feet.
-
Sarnia / white rock ice maybe 10 inch of ice today
-
Didn’t get on the ice til around noon today but the fish were fairly active through the afternoon. Ended up with a jumbo, a nice sized burbot, and five walleye including one 27”.
-
It has been consistently around 12”at collingwood. Some shacks are out. Atv’s and side x sides out. So far 4 perch. 3 jumbo one bait
-
Anyone know ice conditions at glen harbour? It would be nice to make a quick trip after work this week but i know it usually takes a bit to get good ice there.
Ive been out to sarnia, which had 7 inches 2 weeks ago, and up to north of rowans twice. Good solid 10 inches there now. Stone barn was a little sketchy a week ago with the heave opening up down the middle of the bay while we were there.
-
Walleyemaverick I PM you this afternoon.
-
Are shacks gonna make it out on collingwood this week? Ppl are saying 12" of solid ice. This weeks temperature shouldn't be too much of a threat right? Lol
-
Maybe with a sled dog team you could pull your shack out. Hearing theres a heave to cross at the launch and with this warm weather you wont catch me out there unless im on foot. But each to their own lol
-
Yeah made it out to Collingwood last weekend. There is a heave across right out in front of the launch but it comes right up to the island on the north end. So a guy could prob cross it right on the north end of the launch close to the island shore. We crossed it about 40 yards out into the lake and there was no problem but that was before the warm weather.
-
What was the fishing like at collingswood and what it like south down around sarnia?
-
Anyone know if they are driving on at Triple T?
-
Hey Churchill - yeah people are driving on at Triple T. 14”.
-
seen 2 trucks drive across lake from triple t to the east side of lake.
-
Thanks Doggy and Fishfinder
-
what and where is triple T ? on the west side of the lake?? or east ?
-
Collingwood is 12”, some shacks are out on ice. Still heave out from boat launch. Think shacks are coming on from island.
-
We are still wide open here in South dakota never been any farther north than ND could anyone point me in the direction of good place to stay that puts out their own ice houses (sleeper or day) i am looking at early January not sure if i should drag my atv along you folks have any ideas for my first ice fishing trip to Canada thanks
-
There used to be an ad on Kijiji for LML fishing shack rentals. You could check there.
-
Posted on one of the facebook fishing groups was a picture of buddy on the ice at midway road with his 1ton and what looked like a 18ft enclosed trailer, he claimed to have crossed the heave with it. Careful out there everyone
-
Thanks AndyJ i will check it out
-
Any updates on LML going from Wee-two south, and Stone Barn North? Anyone been out and got a recent ice measurement? Would love to go out on Boxing day, but don't want to go swimming.........
-
was out at alice/weetoo last weekend. ice was around 8" but the fishing was slow.
-
Was out at little arm/kinikoma. Solid clear ice. 14 inches of ice.

Nice!!

I was the first one to drive on the ice saterday However me or my buddy has been out the last 3 weeks in a row and have paid close attention to the ice conditions and build. I was amazed how many people just drove on the ice after seeing a vehicle out without any thought or care when there was still 4 ish trucks on land and then 3 or 4 on the edge of the shore line. And couldn't believe the 2 guys that parked pickups like 20 feet from eachother. ???
-
Wow.... Didn't expect this.... Worth the watch considering my last post ... And this is a shallow flat bay that I ice fished nov 10th. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159747259980501&id=624485500 (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159747259980501&id=624485500)

Hi all,
Looking forward to another great season. Anyone driving on at Collingwood?
Bin waiting to pull out the shack.
L. S.
-
Was out there on Saturday and everyone was parking on shore still, right when we were getting ready to go home 2 trucks were ripping across the lake on the ice, I figure with these cold temps we've been having I'm sure pretty soon it will be ok to drive on
-
Hi Huber87
Thanks for the update and I agree it shouldn’t be to much longer.
-
hahaha 40 km an hr is not rippin and all last week was drivin on 16 in of ice as of fri
-
Does anyone rent out shelters on LML? I’d like to try it out, but we’ve never been down there and it might be a little chilly this week for hole hopping.
-
Over 14" at Alice Beach this morning boys. Time to get at it.
-
Could anyone possible link me the best access out on to the lake at Collingwood? Thanks!
-
Go on at the boat launch then South approximately 100 yards and you will find a good road around the ice heave.
L.S.
-
Anyone drive on at etters recently? Wondering how much ice there is around there, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thnx!
-
We drove on at etters on Tuesday. 14-16" of ice where we checked and fished.
-
Awesome thnx for the info much appreciated!

Anyone catching fish on last mountain and where?

Anyone catching fish on last mountain and where?
1st bay north of regional on east side of the lake in 6.8 ft of water, bottom temperature 0.7 degrees Celsius.

come on, you couldn't even give the guy gps coordinates?? ;D
-
come on, you couldn't even give the guy gps coordinates?? ;D
Don’t want to give away everything but pressure was 103.4 kPa and humidity was 67%

Ice was a pretty consistent 18” at Wee too.

Does anyone know how thick the ice is at Regina Beach? Are trucks driving on it yet?
-
Does anyone know how thick the ice is at Regina Beach? Are trucks driving on it yet?
Ditto, would like to know this as well. hearing rumors of a truck going through on the east side of the pier. i know there is a sandbar there but curious as to how thick the ice is...
-
Lots of vehicles driving on at regina beach. Just stay to the west of the pier to get on the ice. There was a truck that went In there today on the east side of the pier. I measured 20" of ice. But be careful around them heaves. There is one by the point at the swim beach. There is 2 heaves by pelican point but someone has marked a spot to drive through the first heave and for the second heave you can head towards little arm to get around the 2nd heave if you want to get on the other side of pelican point. At kedleston there is a heave that goes all the way across the lake.
-
Someone went thru at glen harbour this afternoon crossing a heave

;D There surely must have been a clue that caution might be needed?
-
January third fished Collingwood first time this year. Action for perch was steady all day. We kept 28 fish between the two of us and released ten more. Lots of jumbo perch and three Walleye.

Great job anglerbrain.... keep up the good work. Amazes me how ur finding them everywhere u r going.
-
Thanks Pollock fish. Part of having success is just keeping track of spots where you have done well over the years. I am 62 so I have had a little practice.
When going after a new species like my Lake Trout trip last year I study as much as I can and take advice from others who have the experience. Good luck this weekend.

Hello everyone is anybody have any information on where I can access the lake preferably northwest corner around Etters looking to head out onto Last Mountain Lake for my first time in the next few days

You can get on at Etters Beach or at Triple T Beach. Both are on the northwest side. Good luck!

Has anyone drove on at Rowan's lately? Any heaves I should be worried about?
-
Anyone driving on at etters? What's the ice like?
-
Was on the lake further south of etters but it looked like there were lots of shacks out at etters.
-
Drove on at Etters boat launch and headed south a mile to a mile and a half to where the shacks all are. We've never ever fished Etters but thought we'd drive the extra 1/2hr and give it a shot. Managed 2 nice keeper wall eyes and 10 perch which 8 were nice jumbos. Lost a couple more wall eyes at the hole. All in all not a bad outing for not having a clue where to go.
Can anyone that fishes Etters regularly tell me why no one fishes right out from the resort? No luck there or just BETTER luck south down the lake, lol!
Oh ya and the ice is good to go, no heaves and about 20-24" of ice.
Good luck everyone, stay safe.
-
I have heard that folks sometimes go N of Etters Beach to ice fish around the mouth of Lewis Creek and catch pike and some perch there.
I have never tried it myself to see what the ice fishing is like, but that is what I was told. ;)
It would be a good idea to test the ice well in that area, as there might still be some current from the creek. :-\

Are there any "need to knows" if a guy was to get onto the ice at Beuna Vista? Similar stuff to 'stay east of the pier' at Regina Beach that someone should be aware of. I think the access point was on 4th Street
Was thinking about going there next time since Regina Beach was packed

Hit up the Regional looking for some large predators.

Got on at Rowan's and headed south Sunday afternoon. Fishing was VERY slow; 1 pike, 1 walleye, 1 perch and 1 tulibee. Fishing started to pick up a lot at dark when we were leaving. 25" of ice but lots of cracks and it was making a ton of noise under us. Hopefully fishing is better this weekend.
-
Anyone have any updates on Midway landing north of Collingwoods? I haven't been that far north this year and was wondering how the drive on is and how the bites been?? Any info would be appreciated and thanks.
-
I have not been there (Midway) yet and the reason is I was told a crack opened up and there was two feet of open water. Now this was over ten days ago and may have frozen back over. You could prob drive there from Collingwood as I drove half way to Midway from there with no problems.
-
Thanks Angler Brian for the feedback. Your always so willing to help others on this site with your knowledge and information, and for that I commend you my friend.
I will definitely let you know how we make out if we get up that far this weekend.
-
Hey Everyone,
I'm headed out to LML for the first time tomorrow morning and I was wondering if anyone has been having luck anywhere around Colesdale or any other places people might recommend. I'm quite new to ice fishing so I am not real picky on what we get but it would be nice to have a spot to get at least a fish or two in the shack! That and if there are any areas to avoid on the ice for heaves. Heard from some people that Rowan's Ravine was a decent spot too or even down around Glen Harbor. Any advice or pointers are greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
-
Right in front of the beach at Rowans is always good for perch and even some Walleye.
-
Good day all, new to the site and really like all the advice on here.I am planning on heading down to Etters tomorrow, just wondering if anybody has fresh info on ice thickness and if there are any heaves that way? Any info would be super helpful ,thank you in advance. Keep your lines tight 👍

Ice south of etters is 26” thick and there is one heave that I can see south of the village south of etters. Good luck and be safe!!
-
Awesome. Thanks Ozzy. 🎣
-
was everybody's weekend as slow as mine? not sure if it was the weather or what, but one of my slowest weekends ever. hoping for a better bite this coming weekend
-
Managed to ice 22 perch sunday from 10am to 5 pm, 2 jumbos and the rest ranging in size from why did you bite my hook to respectable lol. 2 walleye and one Jack on camera but never bothered to hit the lines. Was a fun day on the ice except for the wind. Measured the ice at 30in just north of the shacks at Etters.
-
Lip Ripper we must have been pretty close to each other, I had decent luck just north of the main group of shacks as well.
Hunkered down in the shack all day, the wind was just to bitter to stay outside.
Fished from 9-3 and managed 14 perch of which I kept 11. They ranged from 10-12" which are really nice perch anywhere.
Let 3 little guys go back.
-
Nicely done foozie. I was in the red Eskimo pop up with the silver dodge.

Thanks Lip-ripper156, same to you. Ya you were further north than I was, I drove right
Past ya on my way off the lake. I to had a red Eskimo pop up and a dark blue Chevy.
Funny how a lot of your perch were on the smaller side you say and as for me I was lucking out on some keepers.
Maybe we'll meet up someday on the lake. Good luck and stay safe.
-
Where did those trucks go through exactly? Couple weeks ago, I was out and there was 24" of ice at Regina Beach. Was planning on heading out again this weekend but need to know which spots to avoid
-
I don't even fish that lake and I know to avoid that spot. Buddy fell threw a few years back walking back to the cabin across there all pissed up the night before the big tournament. The ice never freezes.
-
Regina Beach point and pelican point. Two places to stay away from. Every year trucks go down and people don’t learn. Due to currents and natural flowing springs it does not freeze properly and is very unpredictable at those two locations.
There may be more that I’m unaware of but I definitely avoid those two.
Good fishing and stay safe!
L. S.
-
Regina Beach Point is the whole "don't go east of the pier" right?
-
Be in the know before you go...hope this helps and just stay away from the heaves
(https://s10.postimg.cc/tq2vioe7p/Clip.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/image/tq2vioe7p/)
-
I would just stay away from the point itself.

Well done cerndo.

To many people get to close to heaves and points.... stay away from heaves, points, mouths Of a river/creek, or places with current... don’t be to lazy to drill test holes as you go. Also don’t go on in the dark(am or pm)if u have not fished the area before this season. Wait till light and be safe if it’s new to you.
-
any one been at stone barn lately?hows the bite?
-
Collingwood was busy today but we found a quiet spot and had a decent catch Lots of small to medium Eyes and some decent perch. Ice was 28 inches access is the same just keep clear of the two heaves and go about your business. (https://i.imgur.com/sC4eG2U.jpg)
-
You rock Angler Brian. When are you going to give lessons? I was skunked Thursday and two small perch yesterday. Also at Collingwood. How deep are you?
Good job, keep it up.
LS
-
The depth varies from day to day sometimes. This yearI have had the best luck in 25 to 28 feet esp for the Jumbos . I have a few spots saved where there is a rapid transition from 20 to 30 and even 40 feet . That way we can drill a bunch of holes then test until we find where the schools are feeding.
-
Thanks for the info. I’ll give that a try. And look for a spot with a ledge.
LS

Good day of fishing 4.0, 10,11,2.5 lbs jacks so far still fishing. #lateafternoon #redshack-green *****
-
A truck went down by the stone barn Saturday at an ice heave. Stay away from the heaves. Glen Harbour is pretty much surrounded by ice heaves this year.
-
Where exactly is the stone barn? We went on at Arlington yesterday and drove to Etters. There were several small heaves along the way that we crossed. We checked them before crossing and all had over 24" ice. Fishing was terrible. 6 small perch and a dozen tulibee.
-
It’s straight across from Glen Harbour on the west side of the lake. If you crossed those heaves your fortunate your truck is still on top of the ice. Yes the ice is thick but most of the vehicles going under are ate the heaves. Best of luck and keep your windows down crossing those heaves.
-
Thanks for the advice! There are heaves everywhere on the ice! I check them as my post read!
-
Glen Harbour was dead today
-
Can you access the lake at Etters beach? does anyone fish there, is it worth while ?
-
Excellent access at Etter's. You will see a long line of shacks out across the lake to the southwest. The general depth there is 28 feet. There is lots of lake to explore, so just punch some holes in the area. On Sunday we caught pike, walleye, perch, and a tullibee. The camera and flasher were active pretty much all day long. If you like small perch, a tiny beaded hook was the ticket.
-
where is Etters on Long lake ? might try next week and how to get there??? from Regina ? Thanks
-
Hi everyone!just wondering if its possible to go across from sarnia to collingwood or is there to many heaves.thanks

It is possible but there are a lot of heaves going through the lake in that area. You maybe looking at a long drive just to get around. Personally I would stick to one area and work it hard searching for fish.
-
Hi Railman!
I’m not sure what it’s like to get on at Sarnia. Once you get out there it should not be a problem going to Callingwood. While at Collingwood I do see a lot of trucks coming from Sarnia way. There’s one heave that shoots across the front of Collingwood and then across the lake stay away from that and you should be fine.
If you’re not sure, drill a couple of test holes and stay safe.
LS.

Thanks alot l.s.🤙

It kills me how many ppl ask for simple directions on here 🤣. There's this new thing called "Google maps"! It will blow your mind! Haha!!
-
Some ppl just ask about ice conditions when that exact information is right there just a few posts up.
-
Hi everyone!just wondering if its possible to go across from sarnia to collingwood or is there to many heaves.thanks
Just dont try sarnia to rowans or you'll join the other truck 70ft down
-
I agree, there are 3 east-west heaves between Rowans and Midway. The safe way to get to Rowans, Collingwood and Midway is by gravel IMHO.
-
are there ice heaves or areas to avoid around etters beach? not trying to annoy anyone, just trying to be catious
-
When I drove out there last Sunday there were no heaves all the way from the boat launch to the shanty village. There was little snow and the kids were putting on the skating miles like crazy. This idyllic picture could look quite different depending on what they get for snow over the next day or two.
-
thanks for the info!

These two were caught off Etter's last winter - in case you need more incentive.
-
nice!! I like the walleye, what a fatty..
-
Went on the ice at Rowan's sunday morning and went south from the marina, no bites all morning, 1 missed fish on a tip up. Moved spots and started heading north and manage to bring home a few walleye (17-18") and a handful of perch. All in all not a bad day for only being out a few hours. Found the majority of the fish in 25 feet of water.
-
Are these high winds gonna move some ice today or what?

Has anyone driven from Arlington across to etters? Hoping to get across with a truck.
-

Appears to be a heave a bit north both of Etters goes east across lake either go shore to shore and get around heave on west side or come on ice south of Arlington somewhere and miss heave.Unaware of if heave can be crossed anywhere other than shore.
-
Hey all you LML hard water finatics what's going on??? I can't believe it's been 8 days since the last post for this forum. Has it been that slow
for everyone or is the cold weather keeping people at home. This weekend looks a lot better (praying there's NO wind) and hopefully we can all get out to do what we love to do. I see another truck went through by the old causeway on Buffalo Pound here the other dayB.C plates I understand so he probably had no clue as to the thin ice around there. Stay safe everyone and tight lines
-
Well I was out today for 6 hours. I caught one 14 inch perch and a 7lb pike.
I knew it might be a bit chilly so I used the double sunflower instead of the Big Buddy today. Kept the tent toasty warm but fishing outside was no fun. I was north of Collingwood in 25 feet of water.
-
Hi anglerbrian. We must have been close to each other. I was about a mile North of Collingwood in 33’. No luck.
L S
-
Anyone know if there is ice access at Alice beech?
-
Thanks for the updates guys, it's much appreciated.
-
Can anybody tell me the ice thickness on LML around the stone barn or elsewhere. Do I need the extension on the auger after all this cold weather? Hoping to get out next weekend.
-
just take it then you'll have it...ice thickness varies by at least a foot on different spots on that lake
-
Saw a couple more pics of a truck and suv that were broke through, anyone else see these? I am assuming they were at pelican point or Regina beach but I may be wrong ???
-
Beach point. Again.
-
Hey Fishing fanatics, has the bite improved at all up around Etters or are they still hard to get to commit.
It's been slower up there the past couple weeks was just wondering if anyone has had any luck???
Tight lines everyone.
-
Looking at going to Sarnia this weekend wondering ice conditions if need quad or truck thanks for any info
-
For sure there's one good heave out a couple of hundred yards running North/South. If you stay to the right going south and closer to the rocks you can get around it to get out deeper but going left (North to White Rock) I'm not sure exactly if it gets in your way or not, but I've been told that heave runs for miles to the North so depending on where you wanna go it may or may not be an issue. I've only been down there once this year and that was a month ago so it may have changed. Good luck and stay safe.
-
So so day north of Collingwood. 3 Walleye and 3 perch. Too windy for my liking.
-
Lol, to funny AnglerBrian.... your so-so day of 3 walleye and 3 perch is a decent to good day for a lot of us on that lake, lol!!!
I would take that any day for the ol Dead Sea. I guess to many days of 6-7hr days to leave the lake with nothing in the bucket
has made me come to appreciate just taking something home. Good job none the less. How's the ice up North? Still the same I assume
and nothing new to report other than take your extension with I guess.
-
Coming from Saskatoon this weekend and my girlfriend and son and I are trying to check cisco/tulibee off our species list (I know not exactly what most people target there)...can they be caught fairly good around Etters or would it be worth it to head more south? Thank you.
-
We have caught tullibee off Etter's on both of our trips there this winter if that helps. We put them back just for you.
-

Hey Foozie Ice was right at 30 inches. Easy to get around yet with minimal drifts.

Mighty appreciated haha! We don't plan on keeping any but are just trying to check off all the Sask fish species and we don't really fish many places that have them and have seen pics of piles of em at LML

Killer Bob check out the fort quapple site there is a video of mission lake of a guy catching ciscos

Saw that thank you...good video Clayton sure hammered em that day...further of a drive but may be worth it sometimes if we can't get any near Etters.
-
Can you safely drive from grand view to stone barn?
-
The perch were not exactly jumping out of the holes at Etter's today. Wind and cold kept us pop up bound, so we were happy to bring home some nice jumbos ranging from 11 to 12 inches. The pike and walleye that cruised by showed no real interest. Our bite occurred mid - day. The afternoon got very, very quiet.
No tulibee.
-
has anyone been catching burbot or know of any hot spots i could try
-
Gonna head to lml in the morning would love to find some burbot for a good fry or anything for that matter is etters and Sarnia both truck accessable?
-
Fun day at the regional with my son in law daughter and grandkids. We set up the tent and tipups and had a blast catching and releasing a few pike. Pop hot chocolate smokies and hot dogs for lunch. Peter had the first pike a very large Pike on the jawjacker. Andrew was so interested in watching his dad reel it up that he forgot to reel his line in. The pike grabbed his bait too and before we knew it his rod flew down the hole. After a bout four huge runs Peter started gaining and when he got her turning up the hole we saw Andrew's rod sideways across the hole preventing the fish from coming up. I was able to use the gaff to pull Andrews lure out of the fish then I grabbed the handle of his rod and pulled that up minus a couple of inches of the rod tip. The pike went crazy and made one more run snapping Peters line. . We settled down and one of the Ice riggers outside went off this Time Peter landed a nice pike.
heres a few pics of todays fish. (https://i.imgur.com/Y1K4udD.jpg)

Anglerbrian, looks like a grand old time up at the regional park. Is there any pressure ridges up in that area that make areas inaccessible? I am looking to go up there next weekend just wondering if I have to do some maneuvering out there.
-
There is nothing for pressure ridges and very little snow. You can drive anywhere.
-
Was out today north of the Regional Park. Took my Mom and Dad out for some pike action. We forgot a wooden polar tip up out there.. it's got a lot a sentimental value. Hoping someone finds it. Probably a pike on the line....

They did start to get active at sundown but I was fishing deep so took my 4 Eyes and three perch and called it a day.
Tullibee were also hungry today. Can't stand the smell of them so back they went.

Love your fishing ethics Anglerbrian and it's nice to see you are passing these practices on to the younger generation!
-
Mother Nature won a unanimous decision today off TTT. The perch were very shy in the morning. Once the wind picked up mid day, things got really interesting. The wind lifted my buddy's tent right off the ice, breaking the tie down strings. He could only watch in shock as it blew down the lake for about half a mile. By the time he drove over to it, the tent was a wreck. I didn't dare move out of my hard bottomed pop up because I was the only thing holding it in place.
On the bright side, we did see 11 bull elk on the drive to LML; most still carrying their antlers. We also got great gas mileage heading home.
-
Thinking of going to either high house or midway tomorrow with my shack. How's the access? Maybe the fish will turn on with the big storm coming.
-
Always nice to see some Elk!!! Anyone getting into Burbs yet?
-
has anyone driven on at Gibbs Beach or Spring Bay?

I'm wondering the same thing. My son is chomping at the bit to get out and catch these. It ducks that I'll be gone for work 2 weeks this month.
-
I caught 1/2 dozen burbs Wednesday at Swansons
-
did you drive on at Gibbs Beach there then?

I drove on at Alice beach and drove across.

New here. I do not know all the places on last mountain lake. Were is swansons.

Nice going cerndo, good looking pike and walleye. :)
Way to go anglerbrian and company. You guys found some dandy sized pike at the N end and nice perch, walleye and cisco / tullibee at midway. @)
Lucky that you got the rod back, the 2 rods I have lost down the hole were gone for good, lol.
I was out on March 2nd at Rowan's Ravine and found 7 pike.
They were all decent size, but one stood out from the rest. :)
Full report to come in a bit. ;)
I wonder how access will be like at LML after this heavy snowfall. ???
I bet it will tough getting on for a while now. :P

I plowed the access here at Regional Park today so we can get on for the pike etc.

Thank You so much. You should leave a collection box.
-
Is this an odd year, or are this many pressure ridges common for LML..
-
Hi all, any word on the access at high house?
-
Ira484,
Which regional park?
I am taking out a 81 year old tomorrow and hope to have access to the lake.
You need to have a way that we fishermen can pay you for opening ways to the lake.
Thanks
-
Last Mountain Regional----west of Govan. I live at the park and have tractor right here so its not a problem.
-
With all the sh!t we hear about ourselves here in Sk. it is a pleasure to read the post by Ira. That is the spirit of Sk. I was brought up in. Cheers man.
-
Hi All,
I hope everyone is done shovelling and can get back out fishing.
Has anyone went on or broke trail at Collingwood?
I’m just hoping I can get to the shack this weekend.
L.S.
-
Its nice to hear about locals in different villages around the lake pitching in and clearing some snow for the rest of us anglers who don't live at the lake. I think collection boxes are a great idea. I was out at my shack yesterday, had to blaze a trail the whole way. We made it, but it was a tough pull for the truck. I always move my shack at the end of the day and I could barely budge my shack. With the deadline of the 15th quickly approaching, I'm sure lots of guys will be pulling their shacks off this weekend. Hopefully there are guys out there willing to give guys a hand this weekend as I'm sure there will be plenty of guys having issues getting their shacks off. I'll be out Saturday and Sunday with shovels and tow straps willing to lend a hand where I can. Good luck this weekend everyone, play safe and tight lines!

High house launch is open now. I pushed all the snow with my side by side and then broke trail across the lake with my truck. It’s about 10” deep but still soft yet. Definitely need a 4x4 truck to go. I think Sunday will be the last day for the shack on the ice. Be safe out there!!
-
We hit Midway today and access was good the Durango went wherever I pointed her. 12 to 16 inches of snow with the odd deep drift We tried out in front of the Midway road but it was slow I only caught 1 perch there. Headed south to where I fished last week and toughed it out for a few walleye and a couple of perch.

-
Hi Ira 484.....
Just wanted to thank you for being a thoughtful and selfless person.
Lots of people mean well but few do well.
I never get to the Regional but I just wanted to acknowledge your good deed and say thank you.
Best to you buddy
-
Anyone on here headed out tomorrow to the Liberty Derby at Triple T or Henderson’s? If so will see you there. Usually a good turn out with good prize money and prizes as well. Sounds like the raffle this year is for an 8” Ion X auger.
-
Anyone know if there is access at Sorensen. Heading out there tomorrow to hopefully fish and move shack.
-
We got on to Collingwood today, pitting ourselves against the wind and accumulated snow. It was a hairy chested, four wheel drive affair with a small feed of big perch as reward. No country for old tires. Tow straps and shovels were deployed.
-
If you think Collingwood is bad try the north end. Much more snow plus some deeper drifts to make things fun. I never got stuck but when making my own trails almost came to a stop on one drift. The pike fishing made up for it though and what a nice sunny day it was.
-
any one get any burbot at regina beach this year
-
X2 anglerbrian
-
I just want to say thank you to whoever cleared a road on the lake at highwood beach over the weekend. Having that road made taking the shack off the ice today very easy.
-
Fished Wednesday afternoon at Midway and came up empty handed. Good access and some good trails to get around but with a 4x4 you can go where you want if those trails aren't leading you in the right direction. Just to bad the fish weren't co-operating, oh well we'll give it another try on the weekend. Good luck everyone.
-
How is the fishing been since the storm..access at Collingwood etc. Am looking to take my nephew out tomorrow for a few hours. Thanks 🙂

At Collingwood and Midway Friday. In 4 hours marked not a single fish.
-
Are the burbot biting yet?
-
no burbot, fished 8pm-4pm (yes, 20 hours straight).
8pm-8am didn't catch a single fish, marked only 2.
7 pike, 1 walleye from 8am-4pm.
38 inch pike on 4 lbs test/perch rod/lure, no litre,15 minutes battle.
Same spot last year produced minimum of 5-10 burbot per day all march long any time we went.

There are a few trails out here that can be followed out. I had it in 4x4 and didn't have any issues.

which area would be the best to buy a cabin/lot thats close to the good fishing ?

Has anyone tired Pelican Pointe' or at Rowan's recently for burbot?
If so, can you get on with a 4x4 and is there any burbot action to be had?
Sure would like to find some this season, but, time is running out, fast.

Ww.... was out wed got one burb and 1 small pike in 3 hours so took off to my pike spot and slow as hell. This am got to the lake after my son's soccer game about 11 and went to pp again to see if the showed up. Talked to a few guys and really slow. None on the ice waiting for the knife from what I could see. So me and my son didn't bother and went to chase flags else where. Trails there are some. Breaking trail sucks as the temps don't allow the snow to pack it down and stick. Tires just spit it out and it's not sticking to the ice so makes it real fun. I asked my son if we could make it to our spot with out getting stuck ... he said yes I said no .... I was right in the end 6 different time I had to get out and shovel lol. End result of the day 5 Flags and 3 nice little piggys all back in the lake to make some more fat little piggys one day.

Made it on at Etter's today. Didn't get stuck, but 4WD was a necessity. We had three periods of action fishing for pike and burbot in the shallows. It never got really hot, but the evening was the best. We had around a dozen flags, and my partner put three on the ice. I on the other hand, discovered the line on my tip ups was well past its best before date. The fishing gods made certain to punish me for my carelessness.
-
Is there anywhere that the cisco bite is decent? Still trying to check them off the list, my 8 year old boy is too. Tried Etter's in January my girlfriend got one and we got a couple perch but we did not hit the tullibee like we hoped. Have a 4x4 with decent tires. Could try Etter's again if the snow isn't real bad.
Thank you

Chain lakes are way better for the toul then lml I rarely catch them out here vs pasqua. Pm if you want

@spoxick Nice Fish! Glad you found some after all of your shoveling.
@WW I'm hoping to get out tomorrow with jpicks for some burbs too, but the weather forecast looks brutal. -30 to -40 w/windchill tomorrow.

Last ice trip to LML. Accessed at Etter's and fished shallow again for pike and burbot. We had some swings and misses, but ended up catching six pike and a burbot. The action came in flurries with a double header and a triple header accounting for five of the fish caught. The fish gods showed mercy and even benevolence, after last Sunday's scorn and disdain.
